Apostle
Alvin D. Stewart, Jr., B.S.M., D.D., is a man of vision and integrity
fulfilling God’s purpose and destiny. At an early age, the
anointing of God was evident in his life. Apostle Stewart was saved
and filled with the Holy Ghost at the age of 14, and was called
into the ministry in May of 1988. He became a licensed minister
in 1991 under his Pastor, Dr. C. E. Richardson of Prayer Temple
Church of God in Christ, where he served as an associate minister
until 1996.
In January 1996, the spirit of God
began to minister to Apostle Stewart concerning the pastorate, and
Apostle Stewart accepted the charge from Heaven in March 1996. Bishop
John D. Young, presiding prelate of the Northwest Florida Jurisdiction,
then ordained Minister Stewart as an elder and Bishop C. D. Kinsey,
Presiding Prelate of the Central Florida Jurisdiction, anointed
and consecrated him for the office. After much prayer and consideration
from Apostle Stewart's wife, Evang. Lisa A. Stewart, God ordained
the doors of Abundant Life & Restoration Ministries, Incorporated
to be opened on June 9, 1996, and their lives have never been the
same.
Since its inception in 1996, Abundant
Life & Restoration Ministries, Incorporated (ALARM),
has grown tremendously, spiritually and physically. This ministry
has proven to be a progressive body of believers that is striving
for "EXCELLENCE in Ministry". During
the first three months, the ministry grew from four (4) members
to seventy (70) faithful members! Now, with 2,500 covenant
partners, we are continuing to experience growth in our ministry.
Therefore, in order to accommodate the Kingdom mandate to go
From the Community...To the Nations, ALARM has now become Abundant
Life & Restoration Ministries International, Incorporated.
In August 1999, while under the
leadership of Bishop John D. Young, Apostle Stewart was appointed
superintendent of the Tallahassee District. At that time, he was
the overseer of several churches within the Northwest Florida Jurisdiction.
As a result of the anointing on Apostle Stewart’s life, Bishop
John D. Young later appointed him as his second administrative assistant
in March 2000. In 2002 Apostle Stewart was favored to receive his
Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christians College. Later
that same year, by the leading of the Holy Spirit Apostle Stewart
was led to change spiritual coverings and received the blessing
of Bishop Young. He is currently submitted to Bishop Joby Brady,
the overseer of River
Fellowship International Ministries, located in Raleigh, NC.
Now, Apostle Stewart serves as the First Presiding Bishop of The
River Fellowship International.
As a businessman, Apostle Stewart
carries an anointing for prosperity. With his innate business
acumen and an unquestionable understanding of stewardship, Apostle
Stewart has established several businesses within ALARM that
operate throughout the community, including Kabed
Records and the ALARM School of Excellence,
which presently teaches pre-K and will soon teach 3rd – 8th
grade. In February 2002, Apostle Stewart became a member of the
Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce. Because of the breadth and scope
of his vision, the Lord favored Apostle Stewart with the opportunity
to serve on the Mayor’s City Unity Prayer Breakfast Committee.
Not only is Apostle Stewart an anointed
pastor, teacher, prophet, evangelist, and businessman, he is also
an anointed gospel recording artist. In 1996, he released a project
titled He Cares. His latest projects include
Thank
You, (featuring the ALARM Praise & Worship
Chorale), and Spiritual
Medicine for Your Body, a CD of healing scriptures,
which were both produced by Kabed Records. Apostle Stewart has also
written three books titled Conviction
vs. Condemnation, SELAH!,
and The
Pathway to Accomplishment.
Apostle Stewart is a humble man
who is serious about soul-winning. He is truly tuned in to the heartbeat
of God as he seeks direction on “Building a Spiritual
Community to Impact the WHOLE MAN”. His desire
is to help “REAL people with REAL problems find
REAL answers in Jesus.” Apostle Stewart has
been commissioned by God, as recorded in Luke 4:18-19, to minister
to the lost. To God Be the Glory!
